For years I’ve believed that it’s possible to go under 10 hours off only 10 hours training per week. I used to read Ray Britt’s blog entries and followed his progress in 2003 and 2004 when he qualified for Hawaii at IMLP off less than 1o hours per week. The key point to note is that by 10 hours I mean 10 hours average over the course of 1 year. So within the last 12 weeks I’d imagine there would be some bigger weeks. But even then I think 14 hours is plenty.
I’ve signed up for Challenge Barcelona (Ironman Distance) and with over 50 other Thames Turbo triathletes will aim to finish my 3rd Ironman. What a day out that’s going to be. I’m not going to train to get the best possible time but simply to strike a good balance between family, work and training. I fully intend to have every Sunday off. I also fully intend to take a few days off during the week in the 12 weeks prior to the race.
So I picked up a few interesting links for the t’interweb
